Welcome to Camp Kara - Teen Camp

CAMP PURPOSE
The camp operates to provide a positive
concentrated Christian experience for youth.
It is our desire to show the
greatness of God’s creation and the
effectiveness of Biblical values in daily living,
and strive to introduce young
people to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Canoeing
Horseback Riding
Swimming
Archery
Drama/Music/Guitar
Sports/Team Games
Fishing (must supply own rod/tackle)
Campfires

HEALTH & SAFETY
Precautions are taken to ensure a safe andhappy camp experience for everyone.
The camp is located only a short distance from a hospital and a nurse or qualified person trained in First-Aid will be on the grounds at all times.

The year 2008 will mark Camp Kara’s 15th year!!!
“Kara” is a Greek word meaning “joy.” Camp Kara’s motto is “Rejoice in theLord.” It is the desire of the staff that campers will come to know this joy as they make friends and develop new skills in an outdoor setting.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURES

Arrival – Between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17th, 2008

Departure – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,

August 23rd, 2008

The Camp Director must approve all other

arrival and departure times

 

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP
Sleeping Bag, Pillow, Extra Blanket
Swimsuit and at least two towels
Shampoo/Conditioner, Soap,
Toothbrush, Toothpaste,
Brush/Comb, Deodorant

Bible and Pen (if you have them)
Flashlight, Bug Repellant and Sunscreen
Refillable Water Bottle
Clothing for Hot, Cold and Wet Weather

Shorts, T-Shirts, Tank tops,Hat
Long Pants, Sweat shirts
Rain Gear, Boots
Undergarments, Socks and 2 pairs
of shoes/sandals
Non-Marking Indoor Running Shoes
Fishing Rod/Tackle (if desired)
Guitar/other musical instrument (if desired)
